“During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination.
Nelson Mandela
I have cherished the idea of a democratic and a free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an idea which I hope to live for and to achieve but if needs be, it is an idea for which I am prepared to die.”
“When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace”.
Nelson Mandela has passed away but not the legacy he left behind; that all humans are equal regardless of your skin colour or where you come from. However, in this age of globalization which calls for humanity to come together for our greater good, build formidable relationship and foster harmony, we are at danger of loosing our humanness – we have allow boundaries to separate us, material things other than the rekindle flame of love for fellow human being.
In recent spate of xenophobic attacks, criminality on fellow African in South Africa is not only inhuman but despicable. We cannot accept such horrendous attacks among fellow humans.
We must rise, be the light in the wake of darkness, stand in hope and uphold humanity. The whole world suffers, not because the continents are out of shape. Countries suffer, not because they are not in order. Nations suffer, not as a result of bad people but humanity suffers amass because of individuals not willing to play their part.
Nelson Mandela
I pray peace to the world!!
