What Matters Daily Devotional Day 2: Worrying Adds Nothing

What Matters Daily Devotional

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” Matt. 6:27 NIV

That scriptural passage is profound.

Let me draw from same verse in the Amplified Bible says, “And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubits) to his stature or to the span of his life”. This scripture shows us what worrying cannot do to our lives.

Yes.

It cannot add to our stature or to the span of our lives. Anything that does not increase automatically decreases. Worrying keeps us in an unstable manner. Like a double-minded man who is unstable in his ways.  That state of worry adds, but nothing.

At some point in my life, I needed money to cater for my needs but I had none. It kept me worried but I refused to let anyone into my problem. Unlike me, I made it a private issue that I told none of my friends. This worry started manifesting in my attitude towards others and it hurts so much. I did not know what to do next so I called myself for a meeting, resolved in my heart not to worry again because it adds nothing to my life and went straight to God in prayers.

Honestly, I never had rest of mind all through that moment but the worst thing is that it added nothing into my life or even solves the problem at hand.

My dear, Jesus Christ is still waiting for you to seek because you will find, knock and the door will be open for you. Get over it by acknowledging that worrying adds little or nothing to your life and then take it to God in prays because cares about you. You might be the one holding your miracle from manifesting, so check!
