Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah is a Nigerian Star

This is a man who has dried the tears of many distressed Nigerians and brought hope to many who were previously hopeless. A man noted for his humility.

Here is a young man, who has incredible high number of students cut across geographical boundaries, he is religiously paying their school fees at all levels of education and providing their various needs.  He has established so many people in business and had assisted others build a future. He has been of immense assistance to humanity.

In his Uturu Community, in the present Abia State, he had single-handedly electrified villages, changed the landscape of a whole village by building prototypal houses for the entire community and offering free medical services for citizens of the community; in addition to building a fully equipped modern hospital. The primary school he rehabilitated in his village is the only one with ICT Centre and modern facilities.

Mr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah was born about 43 years ago to late Mr. Wilson and Ezinne Paulina Ogah in Uturu, Isikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State. As a son of a Sanitary Inspector, he did not have a rosy beginning; but as a child of destiny, he set out to achieve the high goals he set for himself.

Uche had also partnered Hopeville Rehabilitation Centre, Uturu for fabrication of Prosthetesis (Artificial Limbs) or Orthosis (Calipers) for so many disabled persons who ordinarily could not afford such things. Also in 2011, he solely bore the cost of transportation, accommodation, feeding and treatment of babies to India for Open Heart Surgery and other related diseases. Recently also, he sponsored a young man of about 33 years to India for a major respiratory operation.

The humanitarian and philanthropic nature of Uche was taken to a higher level when he recently established a Foundation, Uche Ogah Foundation. The Foundation which is primarily for Empowerment, Poverty and Education in 2011 gave out cash assistance of millions of Naira to empower less privileged Nigerians. He recently instituted a chair at Abia State University in honour of his late grandfather; and is building a gigantic auditorium in the university, for the business faculty.

He has the gift of smelling an opportunity from afar. He has many business interests running successfully in Nigeria. His company, Masters Energy Group, a conglomerate with over 13 subsidiaries and interests spanning across oil & gas, banking, insurance, aviation, shipping, dredging, logistics, construction, travel agency, power, e.t.c, has provided employment for over 6,000 Nigerians.

He is a very successful entrepreneur and businessman with a heart of gold. His belief in the Nigerian economy is strong and unequivocal. This belief informed his decision to make an investment (Masters Energy City) worth tens of billions of Naira in Port Harcourt at a time when most companies were running away from Niger Delta region because of security challenges. He is presently constructing a Multi Billion Naira Petrochemical Industry, the largest gas storage facility in sub-Saharan Africa and Fabrication Steel Yard for upstream, in his home town, Uturu.

Mr. Ogah is a Christian businessman,. He joined Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International in 1987. He is a Field Rep in Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International. Ever since giving his life to Christ, Uche had not looked back in propagating the Gospel.  He has remained a pillar of support to many churches of Jesus Christ and Fellowships in Absu and beyond.

A member of various professional bodies including Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Uche has been honoured with many awards among which are:

African Peace Award (APA 2010), Meritorious Diamond Award for National Development (MEDA 2008), Distinguished Corporate Achievers Gold Award (2009), Outstanding Selfless Service, Humanitarian Service Award by Rotaract District 9130 Nigeria (2009), Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Shipping (2009), Restorer of Hope to the Hopeless Award, By Methodist Church Nigeria, Ebenezer Section, Okigwe (2012), Episcopal Award for Faith Motivation by Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Isikwuato/Umunneochi (2012), Merit Award by Police Community Relations Committee, PPPRO’S Chapter, Oduduwa, Ikeja (2011), Oke Osisi of Abia State (2012) and a host of others.

He attended the prestigious Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu where he graduated with distinction in Accounting at Higher National Diploma (HND) Level, and best faculty graduating student. He proceeded to University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) where he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Banking and Finance from Ogun State University and an MBA from University of Lagos. He has attended many courses both at home and abroad.

Mr. Ogah did his National Youth Service at NAL Bank Plc. Thereafter, he took up full employment at All-States Trust Bank. From All-States Trust Bank, he joined Zenith Bank, a bank he worked and spent his banking career of over 10 years until he voluntarily resigned in 2007.  He set a record of growing a new branch from zero balance sheet to over N9 billion.  He rose to the position of an Assistant General Manager (AGM) in Zenith Bank before resigning.

Uche is a role model, leader, philanthropist, go-getter, quintessential gentleman, who has given generously his time, expertise, and financial resources to make a difference in the life of others.
