Praise Fowowe. Author, columnist and sex crusader, Praise has conquered the demons of his own sexual abuse and has devoted his life to preventing and rehabilitating victims of sexual abuse. Sex is a veritable minefield, but Praise has mastered the art of disabusing the mysteries and taboos concerning sex, homosexuality and sexual abuse especially amongst children.
You chose to make a difference in Africa because?
Only Africans can solve African problems. The whites are good people but they can’t really feel our pains the way we feel it. Every solution is in the problem so the solution to African problem is in us.
Most important tip for remaining successful?
Begin with the end in mind and know who your source is. I am God driven not men driven so the opinion of the majority doesn’t sway my decision or reasoning.
If you could change one thing about your life/past, what would it be?
My exposure to child sexual abuse and sex addictions. I wish I had started this crusade longer than now.
How do you keep motivated in the face of failure/disappointment?
I read my Bible and get inspired by some of my mentors.
Time-management tips?
Know your purpose in life and plan your schedule in line with what you are called to do. It automatically takes time wasters out of your life.
Best way to translate dreams to reality?
Wake up from that dream and get to work because nothing will happen until you make it happen.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
The discovery that heaven is a country with codes of ethics and constitution and a discovery of what I am sent to do and how to master my weaknesses.
How do you remain relevant in your industry, year after year?
I never do what has not been commanded by my Boss. I recognize that my life is not my own -I am not religious at all but I understand kingdom mindedness- so I sit with God in a place in my house called Eden and I see what I have to do to solve the problems He has created me to solve. So I never copy anyone and never compete as well because vision takes you beyond competition. I am on a journey to a day where in Africa every child would have access to child sexuality education and child sexual abuse would have been dealt with.
If you were President for a day…
I will spend the whole day creating a philosophy that there is no me without others hence the need for us to allow self to die so that love can live.
Nigeria and Africa will truly rise when...
Now because there is no date to transformation; it starts the day one man wakes up and there are loads of Africans who believe this continent shall become the most desirable soon.
