Micheal Oluwaseun Bangbade is a Nigerian Star

Try to go on a journey of discovering Nigerian stars and you will definitely get exhausted. With a population of over 140 million people, Nigeria truly is not only blessed with natural resources, but also with mentally sound and capable individuals from diverse spheres of life, as well. Let me bring you to the world of a master-mind and social strategist, a man who lives the dream and walks the talk of the new Nigeria, Michael Oluwaseun Bangbade. Young and vibrant, he champions the course of youth and leadership development via his prolific thinking ability, resourcefulness and queer passion.

Michael Oluwaseun Bangbade (Born on 18th June 1979) hails from Yewa North L.G.A of Ogun state, Nigeria. He had his Nursery/Primary school education at Satellite Town Primary School, Satellite Town, Lagos (1984-1990) and his high school education at Command Day Secondary School Ojo, Lagos (1990-1996). He further went on to obtain a Diploma in Performing Arts at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State (2004-2006). Due to his unquenchable passion for the development of Nigerian youths and leadership, he attended the Fate Foundation Aspiring Entrepreneurship Program (Oct-Dec 2010). Currently, he studies at the National Institute for Transformation (NIT). Owing to his managerial abilities, team spirit and initiative and executive skills, he has worked at NOSAK Rentals, Satellite Town as the personal assistant to the manager (2000-2001) and also as the personal assistant to the president at Hilltop Foundation, Festac Town, Lagos (2006-2007) and New Vision Consult, Apapa, Lagos (2008-2009), consecutively.

My Nigerian Star and a future leader.

Presently, he is the event director at One 1000 Event, an organization which engages in providing heart-felt, world-class management services for reputable organizations. More so, he is the founder and chief servant of The 2060 Dream and the program director of The Leadership Seed, which kicked off in 2010 and 2011, respectively. He served as the principal director at Afri Kitchen, Abule-Oshun, Lagos state (2010-2011). He was the Thinker’s Coordinator of the Federal Ex-students Christian Association (FECA), Satellite Town branch (1999-2000), as well as the President, FECA Satellite (2000-2002).He was the zonal coordinator Lagos state, FECA Nigeria (2002-2004), the Western Regional Coordinator, FECA Nigeria (2004-2006) and the National External Coordinator, FECA Nigeria, (2006-2008), consecutively.

A Lagos-based social entrepreneur, M.O.B, (as he is fondly called), has developed a platform on the One 1000 Event, through a defined CSR policy, to create various empowerment events for the next generation of youths, (especially of secondary schools) in centers across Lagos, Minna, Jos and the FCT of Nigeria.

These programs which include Prefects Conference, Leader’s Day Seminar  and 6:45 Prefects Training, have run effectively in HopeBay College,(Maza-maza campus) Lagos for four years, as well as in other schools like Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo, Lagos and Darman Model College, Satellite Town Lagos. Other events at grass root levels which he also developed are the TIP (Taking It Personal) Workshops and The 300 Conference. He just published his first book-The 2060 Dream, which he gave out 500 free copies to secondary school students in Lagos and Jos states, Nigeria. He is currently working on his second titled-The 2060 Leader. He is the brain behind The 2060 Brand and the 2060 Foundation.

His book

As a man of many parts, Micheal has occupied diverse leadership positions in a dynamic fashion which earns him accolades and has hosted such epoch-making events as the Global Impact Conference (GIC) meetings and the 2004 Upgrade Conference. Between 2006 and 2008, the go-getter in him steered a team of social reformers in staging the New Nigeria Campus Reloaded Summit across four higher institutions consisting of Igbenedion University Okada, Imo State University, Abia State University and the University of Calabar where over 2000 undergraduates were trained. He has been a member of staff of Guardians of the Nation International (GOTNI) and a member of the New Nigeria Club.

He is the reason why I can stand on any platform to speak, today. My gift of public speaking which lay dormant in me was brought to life and polished by him. He taught me art of public speaking and stage management no matter the size of the crowd. Today, I visit secondary schools alongside my team of social reformers, to create awareness on the need of joint cooperation on the part of every Nigerian to make Nigeria a better place. I also fight for the actualization of one the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which is to see that gender equality becomes a reality. All these and more were stirred up when he came to extend his programs to my secondary school-HopeBay College which included the 6:45 prefects training and the Leader’s Day Seminar. He truly, is my Nigerian Star.

Micheal is blissfully married with a daughter to the beautiful Ayodele Biremo Bangbade and they peacefully reside in Satellite Town, Lagos, Nigeria.
