The spate of suicide cases is becoming alarming. More and more incidents are reported more frequently across Africa. A Lagos-based disck jockey, DJ, Seun Omogaji reportedly committed suicide moments after leaving a suicide note on his Instagram page.
Prof. Frank Onyezili, a senior lecturer with the Biological Sciences Department of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, was also reported to have committed suicide last year.
One Dr. Allwell Orji who jumped off the 3rd Mainland Bridge into the Lagos Lagoon. There are many more stories like that.
But Dr Malik Haruna King, a Nigerian Doctor, apparently bothered by the growing trend, had this to say about the worrisome trend on his Facebook profile:-

NEVER!
Instead of waving it off, instead of underestimating it...
OVER-estimate it.
