“…and thou shalt meet a company of prophets…and they shall prophesy: And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them…”(1 Samuel 10 vs 5,6). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
One of the events preceding the announcement of Saul’s kingship was his meeting with the company of Prophets. Prophets were the ones expected to prophesy. In the Bible, there were major and minor prophets and of course Sons of the Prophets (Prophets in Training). It was their sole responsibility to prophesy. Besides, before someone starts prophesying, he also needed to pass through the School of the Sons of the Prophets.
Now, Saul didn’t attend the School of the Prophets, but when he met the group of Prophets, he prophesied. He didn’t have the training of a prophet, but when the Spirit of God came on him, he joined others to prophesy. The Spirit of God came on Saul and he did what he wasn’t trained to do. The Spirit of God came on Saul and qualified him to do what he wasn’t qualified to do.
Today hear God’s promise: The in-dwelling Power of the Holy Spirit will empower you to do what you are not qualified to do. God will make you attain heights you ordinarily feel you should not attain. There may be goals you feel you cannot ordinarily achieve at the moment but God will surprise you by opening doors for you.
Just like the Spirit of God came on Saul and he began to prophesy, you will soon receive Divine Empowerment to do much more than you can imagine. You will achieve more than you can believe. You will receive divine assistance that will take you beyond your qualifications.
Zechariah 4 vs 6 captures it explicitly, it says,”…Not by Might, nor by Power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Pray with me, “Lord, I receive divine empowerment achieve more than I can ordinarily achieve on my own. I shall be competent in things I haven’t been trained to do in Jesus name”.
Have a Splendid Thursday!
