Women In Management, Business and Public Service [WIMBIZ]
The 11th Annual conference of the Women in Management, Business and Public Service [WIMBIZ] is billed for the 8th and 9th of November 2012 in Harbour Point, Wilmont Point Road, off Ahmadu Bello Way, V.I, Lagos, Nigeria.
WIMBIZ is a Nigerian based non-profit organisation formed in 2001 by 14 individuals (13 women and one man). WIMBIZ has an overriding vision “to be the catalyst that elevates the status and influence of women and their contribution to nation building.” Its programs are also geared towards increasing the success rate of female entrepreneurs and the proportion of women in senior positions in corporate organizations. They are a volunteer-based organization, funded largely by donations and contributions by members and participants.
The theme for this year’s conference is: “Wellbeing, Workplace and Wealth: Women Working and Winning.”
The keynote speaker is the Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka; Chairperson is the Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, Evelyn Oputu. Speakers at the Conference are Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Omobola Johnson [Minister of Communication Technology] and Hakeem Bello [MD, Etisalat].
