“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because of all the souls of all the people were grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God”.(1 Samuel 30 vs 6). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
In our Focal Scripture, we find David stuck in a setback: his men were set to stone him on account of their missing wives and children. David himself had lost his own wives too in the raid of the Amalekites, but he encouraged himself in the Lord.
Like we previously observed, the word “ENCOURAGE” as used in that Scripture is derived from the Hebrew word “CHAZAQ”. Another meaning of “CHAZAQ” is “TO GO AHEAD”. So, David ‘went ahead’ in the Lord. He could have chosen to continue weeping in distress, but he moved ahead in the Lord.
Friend, isn’t it true that in the journey of destiny, we are often confined and stagnated by our experiences? We often allow the things we have been through to stop us from making progress. Sometimes we allow the disappointments of the past to paralyze us and stop us from taking fresh opportunities. At other times, we allow the feelings of guilt, rejection, depression, bereavement, self-pity etc to overwhelm us to the extent that it becomes difficult to move on.
It is the time to move on.
Beloved, God says to your heart today – MOVE ON! How long will you cry and mourn over that failed relationship, business, and career? Move on, there are better days ahead. There is a glorious future waiting for you. Your Roses will bloom again. Just move ahead!
Don’t let what happened to you in the past limit today’s activities. Just move on. Even when friends and family walk away, move on, God will bring you destiny helpers.
With a smile on your lips, can you just declare with me,”I am moving on”. Like we say in the laid-back Nigerian slang “AHEAD – AHEAD”! God is on your side!
Pray with me,”Lord, I receive the grace to move ahead. Nothing missing; Nothing Broken”.
Finally, Read this post here, It will keep you going.
