“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the Wilderness to tempted of the devil”. (Matthew 4 vs 1). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
Today’s Focal Scripture unveils the tale of Jesus’ encounter in the wilderness. Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Spirit of God, in order to be tempted by the devil. Jesus was taken to the Wilderness, He was taken there because of a Purpose. Jesus was brought to a new location, and in that location, He had an assignment to accomplish. In Jesus journey, there was a Place (wilderness) and there was a Purpose (the temptation).
Isn’t it tragic that we often come to places in life without understanding God’s purpose for the places? We go through experiences in life without understanding God’s purpose for allowing such experiences. We encounter challenges and somehow, we seem to miss the lessons that God had in mind. We have been to several places in life but we understood just little of the purposes for the places.
Friend, hear God’s Counsel to you as the new month begins: There is a Purpose for every place that God brings you to. There is a Purpose for which God brought you into a particular family. There is a Purpose for which God brought you into that organisation. There is a Purpose why God gave you that job, children, opportunities, wealth, competence, abilities etc.
Discover the PURPOSE for your PLACE. Don’t enjoy or complain about the place. Find out the purpose why you are in that place and ultimately make it count in Destiny.
Barbara Angelis captures it thus, “What allows us as human beings to spiritually and psychologically live on earth with all of its Joy, Pain, drama and challenges is a sense of Purpose and meaning”.
Pray with me, “Lord, help me to know and understand the Purpose for my Place and to focus on it in Jesus name”.
Have a Purposeful Saturday!
Its December: We shall FABULOUSLY (Marvellously, Extraordinarily) FINISH this year in Jesus name!
