I bumped into someone today. My ex before I got married to Tunde. Wonder what brought him to this side of town. He’s much fatter now and still has that killer smile that drove me wild. The meeting was awkward at first. I wondered why I kept flashing my teeth at him. At that moment it seemed my body had a mind of its own. Thinking of it in retrospect I feel like hiding in a cave or something. I mustta looked needy. I read an article in The Daily that said men can sense such things. Sheesh! I dont want him thinking my life didnt go right since he left.
Well he asked me to dinner and I shrugged. Now before you judge me, I didnt know what to say! Just thought i’d have to run that through Tammy, I didn’t want to find myself in a quagmire of epic proportions.
I had just finished the dishes when I heard the doorbell. Wondered who it could be. I hate people coming over unannounced. Cursing under my breath I walked towards the door.
There he was…all 6ft of him…at my doorstep! It was then I remembered that he’d asked if I still stayed at my old apartment.I struggled to find the perfect words to say but instead I blurted out ‘ “Wale!!!”…and the cat got my tongue.
