Survive On The Word

“And when the tempter came to him, he said,if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”. (Matthew 4 vs 3,4). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.

STREAMS OF JOY(_) Pastor Jerry Eze Survive On The WordWhen the devil wanted to make Jesus turn stones into bread, Jesus responded by announcing that there is another way to survive and thrive. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”. Jesus was simply saying that His survival in the wilderness is not a function of Bread, but a function of God’s Word. Jesus was invariably saying that His sustenance in the wilderness is dependent on words from above.

Today, glean a lesson from the story of Jesus: Survive and thrive with the Word. When the words of men fail you, fall back on God’s Word and live on it. When you can’t put your heart around the doctor’s report, the court report, the bank statement report; remember – The Report of the Lord!

Bread may give comfort for a while, but God’s Word is an eternal assurance for your destiny. Bread may give transient results but only the Word of God can give results that will stand the test of time. Bread may expire but the Word of God will continually inspire!

Listen to it, Meditate on it, Confess it, Declare it, announce it to the enemy, make it your daily bread, and you will not just survive on it,You will thrive!

Pray with me, “Lord, I live on your Word in Jesus name”.

Enjoy a Beautiful Thursday!
