Being the world’s second largest and second most populous continent, the continent of Africa is home to over 1 billion people of the world as of 2013. From historical lows like extreme slave trading to geographical highs like the Sahara desert, Africa has seen it all.

It would hence be only safe to consider that a continent with probably the most decorated history is home to all kinds of sights and sounds. Owing to its land masses and deserts one can only expect, and not be let down, that Africa is home to some of the greatest natural and manmade wonders of the world. To begin with, for example, the glorious and famed Egyptian pyramids that stand tall today were first built 46 centuries ago for the Pharaoh Khufu, and are also one of the original Seven Wonders of the World.

Another great sight in Africa is the Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest mountain of Africa and highest free-standing Mountain in the world at about a whopping six thousand feet. It should be duly noted that Africa as a continent on the whole, has such amazing sights that not only add to its own glamour and eminence but also equally contribute to the world on a global level.

One such example is the Sahara Desert. Stretching from the Red Sea to as far as the coasts of the Atlantic Oceans, the Sahara covers over 9 and a half million square kilometers and could be as big as the United States of America or China. Again, it can be deemed fair to put that Africa’s features are not limited to significance within Africa but all over the world. Such are the contributions to the world by Africa and such a highlighted history it has enjoyed. If, in turn, Africa is looked at from a tourist’s point of view, it is equally capable of surprising with superb splendors that will and have been leaving people astounded. Be it the Cango Caves, the 800 year old Avenue of the Baobabs, or the Okavango Delta, Africa boasts what are easily the world’s strongest tourist attractions. One of the most paramount tourist attractions of Africa and also one sight of Africa that has always left the world bewildered with its unique characteristics is the River Nile.

It is the longest river in the world, the only that is only termed as an international river, the waters of which is shared by eleven countries. Once again it is obvious that Africa’s most prized possessions are equally fruitful and significant in the global picture.

The sounds of Africa are no less, just like its splendid sights. Be it sounds from its forests that stretch for thousands of miles or be it from influential people that have contributed endlessly to the world, Africa has a sound that cannot go un heard in this world. Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Haile Selassie, Kofi Annan, and numerous other important personalities have raised their voices regarding globally critical matters and have changed the world time and time again.

Africa, as a continent is home to endless godlike sights and sounds, and has probably contributed to and changed the world more than any other continent, and considering its history and present, it probably still has a long way to go.
