‘Corner Corner’ Love
Mr Uduma, the pool-house owner returns from tending his ill brother and is confronted by the loss of business to his Pool House and the news of Chairman’s misuse of the union’s funds.
Much later…
Mr Uduma and Lydia engage in some ‘corner corner’ love aided and abetted by the absence of Lydia’s serving girls. They fix a rendezvous for the next day when the eyes of the neighbours might be less watchful. Lydia laments her marriage to Bature and revels in the compliments and adulations heaped upon her by her lover. Shocking revelation as Lydia is the chief proponent of rumour-mongering in Endurance Villa.
The home of Adolphus…
Beauty is excited about the sale of goods which Sergeant Innocent ‘looted’ from Madam Asabeand hopes that such goods will be a constant occurrence in the future. Sergeant Innocents accepts her appreciation, but more importantly, demands his share of the monies. Unfortunately and almost unbelievably given his antecedents, Beauty has given the monies to her ne-er-to-do-well husband Adolphus for safe-keeping and he cannot give account of the funds. An uproar ensues and Adolphus callously reveals that the clothes are indeed Madam Asabe’s goods which were shared at the council after the raid and flat out refuses to make good his debt.
One thief meets another, right?
