Port Harcourt Book Festival 2013: Literature and the Creative Economy

The highly anticipated Port Harcourt Book Festival 2013 is finally here! The Book Fiesta which will run from the 21st-s6th October, 2013 will feature Authors, Publishers, Readers, Fans, thespians, and every industry associated with the almighty ‘Book.’

According to Festival Director, Mrs Koko Kalango on this year’s theme, “we have ventured away from core literary works to feature people more known in other fields than literature…we realise that for writing to become a viable income-generating stream, the book industry must be ‘alive and well’ so we have invited academics, writers, publishers, booksellers, librarians and readers to rub minds and see what practical steps we can take to ensure that literature becomes an effective economic force in Nigeria.”
