“And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on) but stand thou still a while, that I may show thee the Word of God”. (1 Samuel 9 vs 27). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
Prior to Saul’s anointing as King of Israel, he was with his servant. This servant had been of tremendous help while Saul sought his father’s asses. This was a servant who had done everything a servant should do to help his master.
Notice that when he was about to be anointed, Prophet Samuel instructed Saul to allow his servant to pass on. It was time for a new thing to happen in Saul’s destiny and the Prophet demanded for a separation even if it was momentary!
Friend, there are times in destiny when God begins to separate you from some people you imagine you need, because of what he is about to do in your life or where he is taking you to. Sometimes, others wake up and walk away from your life, we break down and mourn without realizing that it was God at work. We allow people whose mission in our lives was for a chapter to stay on in subsequent chapters.
Beloved, when people walk away from your life or you sense a divine separation, allow them to go. God is about to incubate a higher ground for you. Never let someone whose mission in your life is finished to stay a minute longer, you just might be truncating your future. They may have been the ‘Achan’ in your camp, Let them go! They might have been the veil that covered your creativity and productivity – Let them go! They just may not necessarily be bad people but they could form excess luggages and you may not afford to travel with them – Let them go! It might even be for their good – Let them go!
Pray with me, “Lord, give me the wisdom to identify the people who are no longer needed in my destiny and grant me the grace to disconnect from them in Jesus name”.
Have a Fabulous Friday!
