Foods You Should Never Eat.

This week, we bring you another interesting edition; 7 foods you should never eat.

The foods we eat go a long way, they can either make us healthy or sick. It is then important that we make right choices; and maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are a number of foods, however that we should avoid in almost every circumstance because with them come no health benefits instead they pose serious health risks.  These foods pack on the pounds, zap energy, trigger inflammation, and crowd out the more nutritious foods in your diet. Do your best to banish these unhealthy foods from your diet or eat them on rare occasions only.

Foods You Should Never Eat

Whole milk- is loaded with saturated fat, the type of fat that raises bad cholesterol levels, promotes inflammation, and may contribute to clogged arteries. This is caused by the excess fat it contains. It’s also higher in calories than lower-fat milk. It is always more profitable to do your heart and waistline a favor and switch to skim (fat-free) or one-percent low-fat milk. This is one of the easiest changes you can make for a healthier diet.

White-Bread-Harms-Heart

White Bread/ refined flours- these foods are toxic to the body, because they have been stripped of basically all vitamins, fiber, minerals and other important nutrients the body requires. For this reason, it is difficult for the human body to digest them and this can lead to several health problems. Refined white flour is also bleached with chlorine and contains bromide. These two chemicals or to put it clearly, poisons have been linked to causing thyroid and organ damage.

aa-frozen-foods(1)

Conventional frozen meals- most of these foods are loaded with several preservatives, hydrogenated oils, artificial ingredients and processed salt. Most frozen meals are actually several diseases in a box. It is wise to always avoid them.

Soda_Tax_-_Soda_Pouring_into_Glass

Soda/Soft drinks- this is a no no for anyone that wants to live a long and  healthy life.  One hundred percent of the calories in regular soda come from sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, no wonder it is called “liquid candy.”

This is a major cause of the high obesity epidemic in Africa. Drinking soda also damages the teeth and promotes cavity formation. Some studies also show that cola may weaken the bones. So be careful what you call enjoyment. Instead of gulping soft drinks to quench your thirst, try good old-fashioned water or freshly blended natural fruit juice.

Popcorn

Microwaveable and movie theatre popcorn- this is the movie goer’s favorite, but it is one of the unhealthiest foods one can ever consume. Most theaters go for the genetically modified corn kernels which they pop in exorbitant quantities of coconut oil, which is more than 90 percent saturated fat (the kind of fat you should always avoid). This is clearly a calorie and fat disaster!

Worse yet, they contain other unhealthy substances like processed salt and preservative chemicals. Again, microwaveable popcorn contains a chemical known as diacetyl that can gradually destroy your lungs. If you really love popcorn, stick with organic kernels that you can pop yourself and spice with healthy ingredients like; grass fed butter and Himalayan pink salt.

Processed Vegetables- vegetables are really healthy foods when they are eaten fresh. But canned ones? Are definitely not it. Also avoid canned vegetables with added salt or preservative and also Vegetables fried in oil.

Mixed-Salted-Nuts

Certain Nuts and Seeds- please avoid all roasted and/or salted seeds and nuts.

Peanuts in particular are not a nut but a legume, and very difficult to digest.

This should not be seen as a tasking ritual or a practice of deprivation, it should be enjoyed as a way of life, for therein lies the secret of a good and healthy life.
