My Heavenly Father, here I am again. I enter your Holy of Holies. Thank you for Jesus Christ; because of what He did for me, I can come into your presence to spend some time with you, to share my heart with you, to obtain mercy and find grace to help in this my time of need.
Notwithstanding the evils, the plenty ‘wahala’ and unbelievable things happening around us, I know you are still God, that you never change, you never sleep, you never slumber, you are never tired of talking my calls, neither is your hotline ever busy. Indeed, you reign in majesty, yet you still have my time. I don’t have to sit for long hours waiting to be ushered into your presence. I am happy I always have your ears. No matter what happens here on earth, you are God alone and everything that has breath should praise you forever. Little wonder the elders in Heaven continually cast their golden crowns at your feet in Worship. You are simply awesome, so glorious in your ways.
Who is like you, O Lord? Who is ‘it’ that even tries to come close? How great You are, O God! How majestic You are, My Lord! In the splendour of your majesty, from deep within my Spirit sings, Holy! Holy! Holy is Your Name. Indeed you have done great and fearful things; Herein we are glad.
Lord, let your kingdom come – your righteousness, your peace, your joy in the Holy Ghost. Let your Kingdom come in my life; let your kingdom come in our lives, in our communities and in our Nation. Let men everywhere turn to you, the only True & Living God. Yes, one man’s mistake set off the greatest rivalry ever known to Man – Abraham’s mistake. Lord, help me. I don’t want to make mistakes in my decision-making. Please help my brothers, my sisters, my parents, and our Leaders too. Many times, we don’t even know how we go or come. Lord, even when we think we know our way through this mazy life, let Your Will be done.
My Lord, there are disasters everywhere. Yes, I agree they have been happening for a long time in other parts of the world but they were totally alien to us. The tide has changed. Now, they know where we live. Now, they live amongst us. From the massive corruption in high and low places, to the violent agitation of our Boko Haram brethren in the North, to the flooding problems now showing us pepper; my God, issues abound. Yes, they swooped on us in our extremely unprepared state and now, they have tabernacled with us.
Please Lord, help us. Help me to lean on you for wisdom, for I truly realise that without you, I can do nothing. Without you, I will just be beating the wind, running on one spot and making no headway. Even though the principle of sowing and reaping will stay with us till the heavens and earth pass away, Lord, please still help us and show us your mercy. Sometimes, it seems I don’t even know what to do or where to go for help. That is why my eyes are on you. Forgive us our sins; soften our hearts to forgive those who have wronged us. Please don’t harden our hearts like you did to Pharaoh. Please, don’t destroy us! Please deliver us from evil.
Lord, inspire me to be more proactive. Inspire me to think of how I can make a positive impact wherever I find myself. Help me to make a difference in the lives of those I live with, work with, and relate with. Let my eyes always look to what I can do, and not always what others can do for me. Help me to be more purposeful in all I do, always beginning with the end in mind. Lord teach us to plan, to prepare, to connect positively, to engage fruitfully, to collaborate lovingly and to be our brother’s keeper. Help us to love each other. Help us to love each other. Help us to love each other.
To think my Heavenly Father has the whole world in His hands; all the Kingdoms, all the Power and all the Glory is so comforting and soul-lifting. That is why I come to you with so much confidence, knowing that You have what it takes to do exceedingly, abundantly, far above all I could ever ask or think.
Lord make haste to help us. Make haste to help me, for I am your Son. I belong to You.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
