“And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here? And they answered them and said, He is, behold, he is before you…”(1 Samuel 9 vs 11-12). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
Today’s Focal Scripture introduces a set of young maidens who were on their way to fetch water. The Young maidens had something that made them leave their houses. They were neither ‘busybodies’ nor bystanders. They were not Passers-by . They had a Purpose that was clearly defined.
Notice that when the Young Maidens met Saul, they directed him on how to meet Prophet Samuel. They had a Purpose before they met Saul, and they were able to help him achieve his own Purpose. They had a clear cut destination, and they were able to help Saul get to his own destination.
Friend, can you sincerely tell what your Purpose in life is? Your Purpose in life should be greater than your own personal fulfillment. It should be much higher than your pursuit for Peace of Mind. Its far greater than your family, career or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. Rick Warren advices; “The easiest way to discover the Purpose of an Invention is to ask the Creator of it. The same is true of discovering your life’s Purpose: Ask God!”. The Purpose of Life is simply a Life of Purpose!
Today, hear God’s Word of grace to you: As you define your own purpose and begin to pursue and live it, You will help others to define theirs. As you live with a clear understanding of what you have come to achieve here on earth, you will help others to achieve their own mission.
When your Purpose is clearly defined, You will help your spouse, kids, siblings, colleagues, employers, and even strangers to find and fulfill their own Purposes!
