“…when thou art come thither to the city, then thou shalt meet a company of Prophets coming down from the High Place with a Psaltery, and a Tabret, and a pipe, and a Harp before them; and they shall prophesy. And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and thou shalt be turned into another man”(1 Samuel 10 vs 5-6). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
In Today’s Focal Scripture, Prophet Samuel announced that Saul would meet a company of Prophets, but that was not all; he also declared that Saul would join them to prophesy. It was good enough to be in the company of Prophets, but that was not all that God wanted; Saul was not meant to be a spectator among Prophets; God wanted him to also prophesy.
Like we already observed, to prophesy is to speak God’s mind. So, it wasn’t enough for Saul to be in the midst of people who could speak God’s mind; he also needed to speak God’s mind himself! Saul needed to speak God’s counsel with his own lips.
Friend, glean a lesson from our discourse today: Its okay to be in the midst of people who love to speak God ‘s mind, but you need to make it personal by speaking God’s mind too. God’s mind is expressed in his Word!
Stop confessing the negative newspaper reports. Stop speaking the doctor’s report. Stop saying what you are seeing, say what you want to see. Its not delusion, its called the creative power of the immortality at work in mortals!
Speak God’s Word into your Future. Declare God’s Word over your family, health, finances. Don’t be a spectator when others are speaking prophetically to bring change. Proverbs 18 vs 21 captures it aptly, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”. Cease from saying negative things about yourself! Don’t even sit on the fence with your words! Its even more grievous to keep silent! SPEAK OUT! SPEAK GOD’S WORD!
Pray with me, “Lord, I choose to speak your mind”.
Have a Lovely Tuesday!
