“When they reached the District of Zuph,Saul said to the servant who was with him,”Come, let’s go back,or my father will stop thinking about the donekys and start worrying about us”.(1 Samuel 9 vs 5 NIV). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
Another look at our Focal Scripture will reveal something noteworthy: Saul wanted to stop the search for the asses and go home because he didn’t want to get his father worried. In spite of what he was searching for,he had a family he didn’t want to be away from. In spite of his good purpose of finding something his family needed badly,he still recognized how important he was to his family.
Saul wasn’t willing to truncate the tranquility in his family on account of what he was about to achieve for the family. He was not willing to cause pain when his desire in the first place was to bring joy. For Saul, finding the asses was a good course, but not good enough to relegate his family to the background.

When was the last time you called your Mum,Dad or Sibling and encouraged that person? When was the last time they got a gift from you? I know you love your Family but this is the time to show it. Make it count for them while they still live! Family members may not be perfect people but they still love you deeply. They may hurt you but they still treasure your presence.
Today,Place that call to that Family member you haven’t spoken to in a while, let them know how blessed you are having them in your life. Spend quality time with your Spouse,Kids,Parents, siblings etc. Add Value to your Family.
