Abiola Salami is a Nigerian Star

Abiola Salami (Mr. Champ as he is fondly called) is an icon I admire so much. He has a strong desire to impact people through his exceptional persona, oratory and music skills. He is a fast rising social entrepreneur every young individual could look up to in trying to create the future they so much desire.

A catalyst for productivity both in social and corporate circles, Abiola started out his career in a Non-Governmental Organization and then moved on to Impact Health Maintenance Organization, he also worked as a banker and became a Manager at the age of 28.

I got to know Abiola Salami on the evening of the first show of “The Debaters” (Season 2), an oratory skilled programme channeled towards using oratory as the power to change a Nation.

His introductory speech was exceedingly heart winning, he made it clear that he intended to emerge the winner of the oratory competition.

The Debaters, an oratory reality TV show is being broadcasted around Africa. Just after his excellent performances with challenging issues of National development to talk about and eventual exit from the house, he got offers such as; being able to  feature in an acting role in one of Africa’s most watched soap operas—Tinsel.

He has since continued to develop and deliver articulate presentations to youth organizations, business organizations and educational institutions within Lagos and beyond.

Abiola Salami is a member of Toastmaster International, an organization committed to the development of effective communication and leadership skills. He is presently the Vice President Public Relations of the premier Toastmaster Club in Nigeria—Eagles Toastmasters Club. Toastmaster International recently awarded him the status of Competent Communicator.

He had the potential and I was convinced that he was a star in the making, making use of his talents almost effortlessly.  My zeal to know much about this star outside the house prompted me to
search for his details online; I got his contacts on a social media website and stayed connected with him.

I got some of his free audio materials as a birthday gift from him then I sourced for more, which have greatly impacted my life.

He has diligently produced books, videos on YouTube, audio clips that could be downloaded on sound cloud website. All can be so life transforming and can make you realize there is a champion in you that should emerge. “I speak to champions” is always his closing statement.

This great man believes so much that we can only put a Nation right by putting the family in order; to put the family in order, we must put each member of that family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right”.

His efforts to live a practical and impactful life leads him always to seek opportunities to interact directly with his audience by organizing programmes such as Goal Attainment Made Easy (GAME); Speak Like a Champion; Make A Difference Leadership Initiative (MADLI) & Upgrade.

MADLI is a project designed to inspire and engage Secondary School students across Nigeria to use their competence, creativity and character to make a difference in their families, schools and communities. The premier edition was launched in Osun state with participants from secondary schools in Ile-Ife.

Recently, under the umbrella of I am a Champ Limited; Mr. Champ collaborated with Slum2School in an event to mark the 2013 edition of the International Children’s Day. The event was hugely attended by several dignitaries. The event was in line with the dream of Speak like a Champion which was on in Lagos for 10 days in the month of April, 2013 with Multiple Award winning TV Personalities like, Victor Ayara, Ayo Owoduni and a host of others to deliver great lectures.

Goal Attainment Made Easy (GAME) is another exclusive conference of this star which focuses on Productivity with a focus on total well-being.

The 2013 edition was aimed at equipping professionals to achieve all-round success for their organizations while also maintaining commensurate personal life effectiveness. The faculty of those invited to speak include; Amina Oyagbola, Mr Jim Awosika, Sir Ademola Aladekomo, Mrs Mavi Isibor, Dr Christopher Kolade  (CON),Prof. Pat Utomi , Gov. Babatunde Raji Fashola and a host of others.

Abiola Salami also hosts The Champion in You, an inspirational radio program that is aired on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays every week on Metro FM 97.7 where he shares his thoughts on how to become a daily Champion.

His recently released inspirational book “Get Mad” igniting making a difference is what’s trending on my mind now.

Recently in the month of October, his relevance and impact as a social-entrepreneur launched him further to the world where he has been featured on the EbonyLife TV Channel 165 Dstv  and on Moments with Mo.

Mr. Abiola Salami is a trained Social Scientist, an experienced Business Consultant and a successful social entrepreneur.

He has also attended various executive programs both within and outside Nigeria some of which are the Pan African University, Lagos now Pan Atlantic University; Poise Nigeria Limited and in Los Angeles.
