Mentor Busy Mothers

Tell us about yourself; family ethnicity, education, base/location…

My name is Detola Amure. I am married to my amazing husband and we have two children, a 6 years old girl and a 3 year old boy. I am a British Born Nigerian and I live in Essex, Uk with my family.

I got my first degree in Computer Science from the University of Botswana and I have a Masters in Operational Research from Lancaster University UK.

I started my career as a business analyst and I have worked for several top companies such as Accenture, British Sky Broadcasting , Ford Motors.

What specific solutions do you deliver in the marketplace?

I am the Founder of Super Working Mum where I work as a Productivity Mentor.  I specialise in mentoring busy Christian mothers all over the world who are overwhelmed, to maximise their time so that they can manifest their God given dreams.

Our signature solution is the Super Working Mum Academy where we provide online mentorship with tools and strategies for members to help them birth their purpose and God given dreams. We also support them throughout that journey .

We also organise weekend retreats for women to take time out from their business lives and reconnect with God on a deeper level while connecting with other women of like minds.

I am also a speaker and an author. I have written three books, one of which is an Amazon best seller called Super Working Mum  – Living and Loving Life to the fullest. I love to write, read, travel and encourage others. I also love to hang out with friends and my family.

I am also the creator of the Living Amazed By Everyday Miracle Journal.

What inspired you to start this business?

When I gave birth to my daughter 7 years ago, I noticed that I was no longer passionate about life. All my attention was on my daughter, which is not a bad thing in itself but it was affecting every other aspect of my life.

I felt I was living a very average life and this also affected my confidence. I noticed that a lot of working mums around me were overwhelmed, always complaining of being busy with so much to do at home and at work. I knew that there were others just like me out there and I wanted to help them, so I started a new blog called Super Working Mum in February 2012

However, I took a leap of faith and upgraded it into a business the following year when I lost my job whilst I was three months pregnant with my son. It was a difficult time and I suffered depression as a result but thank God I came out of it and took that opportunity to move my life forward.

What has been the most effective strategy you have used to grow your business?

There are a few strategies I have used but I will share 4 :

  • Building relationships – people buy from people they like and trust,

  • Being clear in my message online so my ideal customer can easily identify with me

  • Being consistent in sharing value with my audience on social media and my newsletters as there is power in giving, and lastly

  • Investing in myself because the growth of my business is directly related to my personal growth

How have you effectively leveraged the power of social media to push your message?

I created a Facebook group for the women in my community and we now have over 1,300 members. I regularly engage with them and provide value on a daily basis.

I also make use of email marketing to connect with my online subscribers. I currently have over 1,000 subscribers and I am intentional about growing my list.

What are some of the major challenges you have encountered so far and how did you overcome them?

My biggest obstacle or challenge was not knowing how to turn my passion of helping others, and writing into a proper business. It is not enough to have a passion to succeed in business. One must have the right mindset, processes, systems and strategies in place to run a profitable business. I was able to overcome this challenge by doing extensive research on how to run a profitable business.

More importantly, I got a business coach who opened my eyes to the world of business, strategies and systems. I am also part of a paid business mastermind group where business tips are shared with the group.

I must say I am constantly developing myself by investing in my personal growth and applying my skills.

Where do you see your business 5 years from now?

Interesting question. I see myself impacting women’s lives on a global level, speaking at corporate women events and conferences, with more books under my belt.  The Super Working Mum brand will be a world-wide known name. I see the retreats planted in other countries.

Any mentor(s)? What is the best advice you have ever received from your Mentor(s)?

Yes I have a few mentors for different aspects of my life. Best advice would be: “Be You, everyone else is already taken”

For you, Excellence in Business is all about ….

Providing the best quality of services and products for my clients … serving them wholeheartedly
